Walking Tour with the Migration Museum (London)

In partnership with our corporate member Turley, we are hosting a guided walking tour led by the Migration Museum team. The tour explores the City of London through the stories of generations of migrants who have lived, worked and shaped the area over many centuries. Narratives include links to the British Empire, Jewish and Arab migration, and other histories that form the fabric of the City.

Key details:

  • Date: Thursday 10th September
  • Time: 2.30pm start (meeting point near Bank Station – exact location to follow); finishes around 4pm near Liverpool Street

The walking tour stops include:

  • Reuters Statue at the Royal Exchange and the story of George Peabody
  • Jamaica Wine House, London's first 'Coffee House'
  • Lombard Street, the Roman Road of Londinium and centre of religious life for the Jewish population of medieval London
  • Fen Court, a monument to the abolition of slavery
  • Migration Museum's future home: a chance to hear more about the museum's journey and the story of Sukphal Singh Ahluwalia
  • Vine Street: Part of the Roman Wall and the story of the East India Company on India Street
