Following the success of our members' tour of the Royal National Institute for Blind (RNIB) last September, we are pleased to have arranged another tour on Tuesday 23rd June, 1.30 - 3.30pm.
Located in King’s Cross, this pioneering space is more than RNIB’s headquarters - it’s a living showcase of how architecture can empower and include. The new office - which was opened by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh in June 2023 - was designed in consultation with blind and partially sighted people, as well as design experts to ensure the greatest accessibility possible.
What makes this building so special:
- First UK office to fully adopt the neurodiversity standard BSI PAS 6463
- Features include a domestic-style Living Room, adaptable lighting, and sensory-responsive design
- Thoughtful wayfinding and colour contrast to support navigation and independence
- Zoned acoustics and visual clarity to accommodate diverse sensory needs

Location: RNIB The Grimaldi Building, 154a Pentonville Road, King's Cross, London N1 9JE.
